The City Council, Municipal Authority, and Economic Development Authority met on Tuesday, Oct. 6, to consider 77 agenda items.
Here are highlights from the meetings.
Improvements are coming to the Vandever East 6th Addition's residential streets. The Council approved a construction contract with Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc. for a concrete panel replacement project costing $574,685, paid from the Street Sales Tax Fund.
Street repairs are also coming to the Central Park Plaza development. The Council approved a construction contract awarded to Cherokee Pride Construction for a concrete panel replacement project costing $673,380, funded by the 2018 GO Bond, Proposition 1.
Public safety remains the city's top priority. As such, the Council authorized several purchases of emergency medical services equipment from Stryker Emergency Medical Services Equipment for the Fire Department, including:
In the 25th year of the Broken Arrow Youth City Council, the city welcomes five freshmen (Peyton Allen, Marshall Bowser, Amena Saeed, Norah Silverstein, and Delilah Tumey-Borens) and seven sophomores (Natalie Barnes, Jillian Burnett, Robert Dumas, Jackson Fuller, Ella Kerr, Adrianna Parker, and Carter Wheeler) to the program.
The Council authorized the surplus and sale of assets that have reached the end of their useful life cycle. Purple Wave will hold an online auction to dispose of these items. The date the auction begins will be announced later.
The Council approved a development agreement with Born Again Restored, LLC, for a new development called Ven Park. The agreement includes connectivity improvements and converts a dry detention pond into a wet pond to become a permanent water feature.
A New Year's Eve Concert will take place at the Regent Bank Amphitheater. The Council approved a one-time noise waiver from 11 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2026, until 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2027, to accommodate a New Year's countdown.
The Council approved three resolutions which set the sale of general obligation bonds on Nov. 3, 2026.
The Trustees awarded a construction contract to Bolding Construction, LLC to construct a 16-inch waterline to loop into the existing system on Elm Place from Miami to Florence Streets. The project costs $1.08 million and will be paid for with a loan from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board.
At the Municipal Authority meeting, the Trustees received the Solid Waste and Recycling Report, the Water Supply Report, and the Wastewater Discharge Monitoring Report.
