The Foreign Ministry, through its consular network in Latin America and the Caribbean, announces the successful conclusion of the External Legal Advisory Program, the results of which are aimed at strengthening consular assistance and protection for Mexicans living abroad.
During this first program, held February 23-27, Mexico's diplomatic missions in the region worked to identify priority topics based on the needs and profile of the target population, as well as the legal frameworks of each country.
The findings helped align institutional capabilities and put resources to better use. They also broadened the reach of Mexico's protection services, guided by a commitment to strategic planning and continuous improvement.
The program helped consolidate strategic relationships with key figures in immigration, criminal, family, labor, civil, and administrative matters, deepening coordination to ensure more effective access to legal assistance.
The Foreign Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to continue professionalizing and strengthening its external legal advisory work. Its approach remains preventive and structural, to respond to the challenges facing the Mexican community in the region in a timely and effective way. This initiative cements a collaborative working model for the consular network in Latin America and the Caribbean, reflecting the Foreign Ministry's commitment to providing consular assistance and protection with professionalism, dignity, and a human touch.
