NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (February 17, 2026) - The City of New Brunswick today announced the issuance of
Executive Order No. 2026-01, signed by Mayor James M. Cahill, reinforcing the City's longstanding commitment to public safety, community trust, and the protection of residents' rights.
The Executive Order provides guidance to City departments and agencies regarding the use of City-owned or controlled facilities and resources, and clarifies the City's
role and responsibilities under existing federal and state law. It is intended to promote consistency across municipal operations while ensuring that City government continues to function effectively and in a manner that maintains public trust.
"This Executive Order reflects our responsibility to operate within the law, protect public resources, and maintain the trust of everyone who lives in, works in, and visits New Brunswick," said Mayor Cahill.
