UMGC Colleagues Lead Conversation on Parenting as Professional Growth

As part of the University System of Maryland's Learning & Talent Development annual virtual conference, University of Maryland Global Campus team members Diane Clark-Faggs and Melissa Sweeney Alexander facilitated a compelling session titled "Tiny Humans, Big Impact: How Parenthood is Making Me a Better Professional" on September 17. The conversation resonated across the participating institutions and highlighted how the lived experience of parenting cultivates core leadership competencies- including resilience, prioritization, empathy, and adaptability. By connecting personal growth to professional excellence, the session underscored the value of open access to leadership development and the power of shared experiences across the USM community.
