Moskowitz Hosts 3rd Annual “Sneaker Day on the Hill”

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-FL-23), founder and co-chair of the Congressional Sneaker Caucus, hosted his third annual "Sneaker Day on the Hill" with other Caucus members.

"Sneaker Day has become a tradition on Capitol Hill, and I'm glad that the halls of Congress are once again bringing their style to celebrate the day," Congressman Moskowitz said. "Whether you're young or old, a Democrat or a Republican, sneakers have always been a great conversation starter, and that's exactly what we need in a highly polarized body. As Sneaker of the House, I'm proud that this annual event continues to be bipartisan and bicameral, and I thank all the Members and staff who joined us today to put their best foot forward."

Moskowitz has been collecting sneakers from a young age, a tradition he started with his late father. After encountering then-Democratic Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY-08) wearing sneakers at an event in 2022, Moskowitz was inspired to also begin wearing his Jordans as a congressman.

This year's Sneaker Day festivities included a panel in the Longworth House Office Building with sneaker designer Wilson Smith III. Smith designed models including the Air Max Uptempo and Air Max CB34 and was the first dedicated designer for Brand Jordan with the AJ16 and AJ17. Following the panel, Moskowitz presented awards to five of the best sneakers on the Hill.

Other Members of Congress who participated in Sneaker Day events included Reps. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR-01), Maxine Dexter (D-OR-03), Dan Goldman (D-NY-10), Julie Johnson (D-TX-32), Andrea Salinas (D-OR-06), Melanie Stansbury (D-NM-01), and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL-25).
