HENDERSON, Nev. (May 13, 2025) - On May 13, 2025 at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the wash area just north of Via De Pellegrini and Via Della Fortuna, where search efforts have been ongoing in connection to a missing person swept away by floodwater on May 6, 2025.
Upon the officers' arrival, they made contact with personnel from Red Rock Search and Rescue, who had been actively assisting in the ongoing search efforts to locate an individual swept away in the wash near Aloha Drive and Pueblo Boulevard.
During the initial incident, search teams utilized Enduro bikes and UTVs to access difficult terrain, including trails and wash areas. K9 units conducted thorough ground searches, while drones and helicopters provided aerial support over the course of two days. Despite extensive efforts and more than 100 hours dedicated to the search, the subject was not located at that time.
This morning, a deceased individual was located in the wash. As the individual has not been positively identified, we cannot confirm at this time whether he is the same male who was reported missing on May 6, 2025.
Henderson Detectives responded to the scene and based on preliminary investigation, there are no indications of foul play.
The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office pending notification of next of kin.
As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
The Henderson Police Department would like to thank the Henderson Fire Department, Red Rock Search and Rescue, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Air Unit, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue unit for their tireless efforts and collaboration throughout the search.
