Summer Camp Registration Opens March 2

Beginning at 9 am on Monday, March 2, the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department will take registrations for summer day camps and the Counselor In Training program. Learn more or sign up at http://www.greensboro-nc.gov/summer.

"Summer can be a stressful time for parents trying to figure out what to do with their kids, but luckily Greensboro Parks and Recreation has a variety of options," said Jennifer Hance, Parks and Recreation community engagement coordinator. "There will be opportunities for everyone - from young kids to teens - to get out of the house and participate in summer camps that will take care of their educational, physical, and mental needs."

Recreation Center Day Camp
Ages 5-12 years | 7:30 am to 6 pm | $100 per week
June 15 to August 14 (Closed June 19 and July 3 in observance of City holidays.)
Parks and Recreation has camps at nine centers citywide. Early-morning drop-off hours, meals will be provided, and fee assistance for families with financial need are available.

Service Learning Camp
Ages 15-18 | 10 am to 3 pm | $80 per week
July 6-17, July 20-31
Participants will engage in hands-on activities, creative projects, and participate in service opportunities with local community partners. Through volunteering, site visits, storytelling, and collaborative projects, campers will build leadership skills while learning how access to fresh food and education can help address poverty and create lasting community impact.

Xtreme Teen Adventure Week
Ages 12-15 | 7:30 am to 4 pm | $250 per week
June 22-26, July 13-17, July 27-31
Give your teen the time to test their limits by hiking, kayaking, climbing, and participating in other outdoor experiences at Lake Higgins and around the region. All sessions have identical activities and field trips, which are covered in the fee.

Teen Xperience @ Caldcleugh
Ages 12-15 | 7:30 am to 6 pm | $100 per week
June 15 to August 14 (Closed June 19 and July 3 in observance of City holidays.)
Each week includes field trips, swimming, and meals will be provided.

Camp Joy
Ages 5+ years | 9 am to 3 pm | $75 per week
Seven weekly sessions June 22 to August 7; Blended Mobility Week: July 13-17 (Closed June 19 and July 3 in observance of City holidays.)

Camp Joy is an inclusive summer camp experience for individuals who are five-years-old or older and have a disability. Blended Mobility Week is for people with physical disabilities. Transportation is available for $10 per week.

Counselor In Training
Rising high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors | $40 one-time fee | Three-week sessions June 15 to August 14
Teens learn leadership and responsibility, and earn service learning hours while working with day campers in a job-like environment.

Sports Clinics
Parks and Recreation offers summer sports clinics to introduce new sports and provide skill development. Athletics will offer lacrosse, golf, and field hockey clinics for youth ages 10-18 this summer. Sportsplex partners will offer basketball, soccer, and volleyball for youth ages 6-12.

Summer Jobs
Looking for summer employment? Parks and Recreation is hiring for all summer positions, including recreation center, Camp Joy, ENERGY at the Park, and teen camp counselors. The department is also hiring all aquatics positions, including lifeguards, pool cashiers, pool technicians, pool supervisors, and sprayground attendants. Training and certifications are paid for by the City of Greensboro.
