Aerospace Industries Association Responds to Supreme Court Tariff Ruling

Arlington, Va. - Aerospace Industries Association President and CEO Eric Fanning today made the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled on the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA):

"The Trump Administration understands the tremendous value of the U.S. aerospace and defense industry to the American economy. Our industry has promoted a zero for zero tariff environment as the best way to increase U.S. exports of aerospace and defense products, and we remain grateful for the Administration's engagement on trade agreements that acknowledge this," Fanning said. "Today's ruling does not change the unique nature of the U.S. aerospace and defense industry. We have the largest manufacturing trade surplus in the United States, exporting more than we import for decades, and contributing to the American economy by growing jobs here at home. As we look to the next steps in the tariff conversation, one thing is certain: our industry will continue to be America's best exporting industry, delivering best-in-class aerospace and defense products to customers around the world."
