On 29 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had discussions with Ms. Kelley Anne Eckels-Currie, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, upon the latter's visit to Thailand to participate in academic activities.

Both sides exchanged views on the situation in Myanmar, including ways to enhance humanitarian assistance and combat transnational organized crime. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed Thailand's readiness to cooperate with the Special Rapporteur on the issues of mutual interest.
