Ambassador for the Affairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Liu Yuxi Visits the Republic of Equatorial Guinea

From March 1 to 2, 2026, Ambassador for the Affairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Liu Yuxi visited the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Simeón Oyono Esono Angüe and Minister of Finance Ivaán Bacale Ebe Molina. Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Wang Wengang, among others, was present at the meetings.

Ambassador Liu stated that China and Equatorial Guinea have always adhered to mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit, continuously deepening their friendly and cooperative relations. Noting that Equatorial Guinea is the incoming African co-chair of FOCAC, China stands ready to work with Equatorial Guinea to further deepen the implementation of summit outcomes such as the zero-tariff measure, ensuring that tangible results from China-Africa practical cooperation truly benefit the peoples of both nations.

Simeón Oyono Esono Angüe and Ivaán Bacale Ebe Molina highly commended the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, reaffirming their willingness to actively cooperate and contribute to FOCAC work. They noted that China's comprehensive zero-tariff measure for Africa fully reflects the principle of sincerity, real results, amity, and good faith in China's Africa policy. Equatorial Guinea will actively implement summit outcomes including the zero-tariff measure, to advance Africa-China modernization to a new level.
