UAA Giving Day - What, Why, When

Giving Day 2026 is a 49-hour online event encouraging everyone across our entire community to make a charitable donation to UAA. This year's event will begin at noon on March 24 and end at 1 p.m. on March 26.

To encourage and celebrate philanthropy, we have many contests and competitions, including 3 ways to win an Alaska Airlines voucher, and 3 ways to unlock a $2,500 donation to your favorite UAA fund.

UAA also has more than 65 matching gift challenges, including ways to double, triple, or maximize the impact of your donation; for example:

  • Triple your gift - The Suddock Foundation is offering to give $2 for every $1, up to $30,000 contributed to the UAA Student Success Fund.
  • Double your gift - Your gift to the Goss Nurses Student Support Center will be doubled, up to $20,000, thanks to a challenge from Cindy and Dave Schraer.
  • The 5th Line Board and Executive Committee has committed $15,000 to the Excellence in Hockey Fund when we reach 100 Giving Day donors to that fund!

More ways to win - Lucky donors throughout the 49 hours will win 15 mini-grants to their favorite UAA fund, totalling over $6,000, and including the following mini grants from the University of Alaska President's Office:

  • $2026 to the fund that the 2026th unique donor donated
  • $1,000 to the fund that the 1000th new donor donated

If you would like to encourage others to give and be entered into a drawing to win an Alaska Airlines voucher, sign up to become a Giving Day Champion.

Join us for UAA Giving Day 2026, and rally with us for the programs and scholarships that support our mission and our students.
