PR No. 157 Snow & Weather Advisory — 13 to 18 December 2025 Islamabad: December 13

Areas covered: Kohistan / upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Balochistan.

Primary hazard : A shallow/active western disturbance 13-15 Dec bringing light to moderate rainfall in plains and snowfall in hilly & high-altitude areas, followed by cold/dense-fog conditions and isolated places 16-18 Dec.

13-15 Dec: A western disturbance will affect northern and western Pakistan, producing light to moderate rain in plains and snowfall over hilly / high altitude areas. Mountainous corridors (Kohistan, upper KP, GB high-altitude zones, AJK hills) will see the highest snow and risk of road closures. Quetta, Ziarat and parts of northwestern Balochistan may receive isolated rain / hill snowfall.

16-18 Dec: Disturbance weakens but very cold conditions persist. Expect icy / slippery roads in higher elevations, and isolated snow showers in the Northern Areas.
