Morowali, October 1, 2025 - As part of efforts to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and support national development goals, Major General Jonathan Binsar Parluhutan Sianipar, Commander of Kodam XXIII/Palaka Wira, conducted an official visit to PT Vale Indonesia Tbk's Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) in Morowali. The visit marked a strategic partnership between the defense sector, industry, and local communities in advancing the national vision of Asta Cita as outlined by President Prabowo Subianto.
Accompanied by Mrs. Dewi Binsar Sianipar, Chairperson of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Region XXIII/Palaka Wira, and other officials, the Commander was warmly welcomed by PT Vale's IGP Morowali management. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of fostering harmonious communication between military units-such as district commands and battalions-and local communities, including companies operating in the region.
"Every project must enter through the gateway of local culture. Establish strong communication between the Kodim, battalions, and communities, including companies like PT Vale," said the Commander.
He further highlighted Morowali's emergence as one of Indonesia's fastest-growing industrial hubs, noting the strategic importance of maintaining regional stability.
"Industrial zones like Morowali play a vital role in our national economy, but they also present unique challenges. Therefore, synergy among defense forces, local governments, communities, and businesses is essential to ensure a safe and conducive environment," he added.
The Commander expressed his appreciation for PT Vale's commitment to not only industrial development but also meaningful contributions to regional progress through social initiatives-particularly the provision of clean water access for local communities.
"PT Vale's efforts align with our shared vision of building a prosperous, secure, and advanced Morowali. Collaboration is key to achieving this goal," he affirmed.
Manunggal Air Program: A Tangible Step Toward Water Self-Sufficiency
A highlight of the visit was the inspection and inauguration of a clean water drilling site in Onepute Jaya Village, a PT Vale-supported community, as part of the Manunggal Air Program. This initiative exemplifies the collaboration between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and PT Vale in supporting the second mission of Asta Cita: fostering national self-reliance through water independence.
"The Manunggal Air Program has been implemented across Indonesia. Through collective effort, water began flowing yesterday, and today we officially inaugurate it here," said the Commander.
Beyond addressing basic needs, the program strengthens social and environmental resilience. Rooted in local values and mutual cooperation, it demonstrates how military-industry synergy can deliver sustainable impact for communities.
PT Vale played a key role as the primary contributor to the development of the clean water facility. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligns with national policy directions under Asta Cita, particularly in rural development, environmental stewardship, and community welfare enhancement.
Wafir, Head of PT Vale's Bahodopi Project, expressed gratitude for the Commander's visit and the TNI's support of the company's social programs.
"The presence of the Commander and the TNI team brings renewed energy to our cross-sector collaboration, especially in promoting development rooted in local values and community needs," he said.
He also emphasized the importance of clean water access as a fundamental human right and a symbol of hope for a healthier future.
"Clean water is a basic right for every citizen. Through this collaboration, we are not just building wells-we are building hope and a healthier future for the community," Wafir concluded.
This visit stands as a powerful testament to the synergy between national defense and industry in shaping a better future for the people of Morowali. PT Vale welcomes the Commander's guidance and remains committed to fostering open, constructive, and sustainable engagement with all stakeholders.
