Dentons advises Vancity on two capital markets transactions totalling CA$550 million

November 2, 2026

Dentons, Canada's Global Law Firm, is pleased to have advised Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (Vancity) on two significant capital markets transactions in 2026, representing a combined CA$550 million in debt issuances. The transactions consisted of a CA$325 million senior deposit note issuance completed in July and a CA$225 million subordinated debt offering completed in October. These transactions mark Vancity's first issuances of these types of securities in the Canadian capital markets, representing a significant milestone in the credit union's funding strategy.

Together, the issuances diversified Vancity's funding sources, strengthened its balance sheet and enhanced its financial flexibility to support responsible growth, modernization and continued investment in its members and communities.

Bill Jenkins and Albert Zhang led the Dentons Securities and Corporate Finance team advising on both issuances, under the direction of Elmira Moghadam (Director Legal) at Vancity and supported by Nada Farag and by Daniel Safi on tax matters.

Dentons' Securities and Corporate Finance team advises issuers, investment dealers and institutional investors on complex debt and equity capital markets transactions.
