Minister of Foreign Affairs represents the Prime Minister in the 13th ASEAN - U.S. Summit

On 26 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, represented the Prime Minister at the 13th ASEAN - U.S. Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The meeting appreciated the constructive role of the U.S. in supporting peace, stability and prosperity in the region through ASEAN-led mechanisms, based on the principles in the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific. The Meeting adopted the ASEAN - U.S. Leaders' Joint Vision Statement to Promote Stronger, Safer, and More Prosperous ASEAN and America to advance cooperation in security, economic, social, and cultural fields. In addition, the Leaders also exchanged views on key regional and international issues.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the strategic importance of ASEAN to the U.S. in maintaining peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region. He also highlighted the need to further enhance ASEAN - U.S. cooperation, particularly in digital economy, education, and youth exchanges, as well as in combating transnational crime, especially online scams and drug trafficking, which harm the businesses and peoples of both ASEAN and the U.S.
