June 2026 crude steel production

World crude steel production for the 70 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 155.7 million tonnes (Mt) in June 2026, a 1.7% increase compared to June 2025.

Crude steel production by region

Africa produced 2.2 Mt in June 2026, up 20.0% on June 2025. Asia and Oceania produced 115.2 Mt, up 1.5%. The EU (27) produced 10.8 Mt, up 4.6%. Europe, Other produced 3.7 Mt, up 10.4%. The Middle East produced 4.0 Mt, down 13.4%. North America produced 9.5 Mt, up 5.0%. Russia & other CIS + Ukraine produced 6.8 Mt, down 2.2%. South America produced 3.5 Mt, down 0.3%.

China produced 83.7 Mt in June 2026, up 0.4% on June 2025. India produced 14.1Mt, up 4.5%. The United States produced 7.2 Mt, up 3.5%. Japan produced 6.8 Mt, up 1.3%. Russia is estimated to have produced 5.6 Mt, down 3.4%. South Korea produced 5.3 Mt, down 0.9%. Türkiye produced 3.3 Mt, up 14.7%. Germany produced 2.9 Mt, up 9.5%. Brazil produced 2.8 Mt, up 0.1%. Viet Nam produced 2.6 Mt, up 27.5%.
