Clinton County I-35 traffic northbound lanes reopened

St. Joseph, Mo. - Michels Road & Stone, contracted by the Missouri Department of Transportation, reopened the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 between Route 116 (Exit 40) at Lathrop and Shoal Creek near the intersection of U.S. Route 69 (Exit 48) near Cameron on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Crews have completed paving on the northbound lanes. Southbound traffic is restricted to the driving lane while crews stripe the passing lane and anticipate reopening it, tomorrow, Oct. 29, weather permitting. During the winter, construction on the project will pause and the north- and southbound lanes will remain open.

In 2026, the southbound lanes are scheduled to be rehabilitated. At that time, traffic will shift to two-way traffic on the northbound lanes. More details will be shared ahead of the traffic shift.

The widening and rehabilitation of U.S. Route 69 were completed in June 2025 as part of this project. All work for this project must be completed on or before September 1, 2026.
