Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman received Klaus Holetschek, Chairman of the CSU Parliamentary Group, and members of the Bavarian Parliament, accompanied by Professor Dr. Dragan Primorac, President of the International Society for Applied Biological Sciences (ISABS), and representatives of the Bavarian company Sana Kliniken AG.

The meeting underscored the long-standing cooperation between the University of Split School of Medicine and REGIOMED Kliniken (now part of the Sana Kliniken AG) in the education of German medical professionals in Croatia. Since the programme's launch in 2016, nearly 300 physicians have successfully completed their training.

Grlić Radman emphasized the excellent relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Federal Republic of Germany, characterized by frequent high-level visits and intensive dialogue. In this context, he highlighted the visit of Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Johann Wadephul in late August of this year, as well as the recent visit of Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann to Croatia.

Friendly relations between Croatia and Germany are also reflected in the traditionally high number of German tourists visiting Croatia each year, as well as in the increasingly dynamic economic cooperation. A further important link between the two countries is the large Croatian community in Germany, with approximately 133,000 Croatian nationals residing in Bavaria alone.

Grlić Radman also recalled the session of the Permanent Croatian-Bavarian Commission held in Osijek in April 2025, co-chaired by Bavarian Minister Michaela Kaniber, who is of Croatian origin. He expressed appreciation for the significant contribution of the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Munich and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Zagreb to the continued strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Primorac announced the upcoming 14th Conference "Advances in Application of Artificial Intelligence in Precision Medicine" and the accompanying symposium on artificial intelligence in medicine, forensics, and anthropological genetics, to be held in Dubrovnik from 15 to 19 June 2025.

Grlić Radman reaffirmed that the Republic of Croatia will continue to enhance its cooperation with Bavaria and the Federal Republic of Germany as a whole, with the aim of further developing political, economic, educational, and scientific ties for the benefit of citizens and institutions of both countries.
