Get to Know Your City & the People Working Behind-the-Scenes to Serve You: Apply for Concord 101!

If you have wondered what really goes on at City Hall - who works there, what do they do, and how are decisions made? We've got the answers! Apply for the 2026 Concord 101 program to learn about City services directly from the men and women on Team Concord doing the work and serving our community.

During the free, 14-week program, participants will meet with the Mayor, City Council, and City leaders, and get a behind-the-scenes look at City facilities and operations. Participants also meet with community partners and learn how we are working together to address critical community needs like affordable housing, and our joint efforts to attract diverse job opportunities for residents.

Our desire is to inspire participants to take an active role in their community and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for their local government. We hope participants leave the program with a stronger connection to their hometown and the people dedicated to making it a safe place with opportunities for everyone to thrive.

Council Members Andy Langford, Lori Clay, Betty Stocks, Jennifer P. Hubbard, and John Sweat, Jr. are Concord 101 alumni.

Registration for Concord 101 is open online through August 2, 2026. Be sure to sign up early as space is limited and classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

More information about the program, including the class schedule, is available on our website at concordnc.gov/Concord101.
