RJC Celebrates One Year of Peace Since President Trump Ended the War in Gaza and Brought the Hostages Home

Washington, DC - The Republican Jewish Coalition released the following statement marking one year since the end of the war in Gaza, the return of all the living hostages held by Hamas, and President Donald J. Trump's historic address to the Knesset in Jerusalem.

RJC National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman said:

One year ago today, after two harrowing years in darkness and captivity, all of the living hostages came home, and President Donald J. Trump delivered an epochal speech to the Knesset in Jerusalem to declare the war in Gaza was over and that we stood at "the historic dawn of a new Middle East." We celebrate that miracle again today.

On October 13, 2025, the Iran-backed Hamas terror group finally released the last 20 living hostages, and President Trump told Israel's elected leaders that "against all odds, we have done the impossible and brought our hostages home." He was received as a hero, with standing ovation after standing ovation from a grateful Jewish nation, cementing his legacy as The Peacemaker President.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called President Trump "the greatest friend that the State of Israel has ever had in the White House," declaring that "no American President has ever done more for Israel." Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana hailed President Trump as "a giant of Jewish history" and told the chamber, "The world needs more Trumps."

The Jewish community will never forget the joy felt in America, across Israel, and around the world.

In the year since, the peace has held: not a single rocket from Gaza has hit Israel, after years of Hamas indiscriminately raining barrages down on innocent Israeli families.

One year after the impossible was achieved, we are grateful, hopeful, and continue to stand with President Trump and the Board of Peace's mission to demilitarize Gaza and ensure that Hamas can never again threaten the Jewish state.

When many weak-kneed world leaders cowardly backed away, President Trump stood strongly by Israel's side when it mattered most.

"The story of fierce Israeli resolve and triumph since October 7th should be proof to the entire world that those who seek to destroy this nation are doomed to bitter failure. The State of Israel is strong-and it will live and thrive forever." - President Donald J. Trump at the Knesset

May God continue to bless America, Israel, and the U.S.-Israel alliance.
