Jared Bienemann Returns to Buena Vista University as Chief Development Officer

Buena Vista University is pleased to announce the return of Jared Bienemann as the new Chief Development Officer for the Office of Advancement.

"Jared's genuine connection to BVU, along with his proven leadership and fundraising expertise, make him perfectly suited to lead our development strategy," said President Brian A. Lenzmeier, Ph.D. "We're thrilled to welcome him home as he drives our mission and vision forward."

Bienemann rejoins BVU after a successful three-year tenure at Simpson College, where he served as Vice President for College Advancement. In that role, he built on his experience at BVU and guided Simpson's advancement team through a period of elevated fundraising and donor engagement.

Having first joined BVU in 2020, he developed a strong foundation within the Office of Advancement, serving roles including Executive Director of Development and Assistant Vice President for Advancement. During his time at BVU, Bienemann was instrumental in strengthening donor relationships, launching innovative digital development initiatives, and expanding philanthropic support across academic and athletic programs.

Prior to BVU, Bienemann held fundraising roles at the University of Iowa's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences from 2016 to 2020, advancing to Director of Development. There he led campaigns to engage alumni and bolster academic excellence. He began his advancement career at Cornell College, where he served as Associate Director of Development.

In his new capacity, Bienemann will collaborate closely with university leadership, the Board of Trustees, and will work alongside Robin Wissink, Vice President for Advancement Operations to shape strategic fundraising priorities, enhance donor stewardship, and support BVU's ambitious growth plans.
