ServMO partners with 9/11 Day to pack more than 626,000 meals for Missouri

Jefferson City, Mo. - On Friday, September 11, 2026, ServMO staff engaged over 1,700 volunteers in service at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis and the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, packing thousands of meals for those in need. In total, these volunteers packed more than 626,000 meals to be distributed across Missouri. Local food banks will distribute the meals, joining over 50,000 volunteers nationwide in packing and distributing more than 20 million meals across more than 50 cities.

This year, Missouri volunteers were able to participate in meal packs on both sides of the state - St. Louis and Kansas City. Commissioners from the Missouri Community Service Commission joined in packing meals alongside Lt. Governor Wasinger and Second Lady, Colleen Wasinger, members of the Missouri Arts Council, and Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development team members.

"As our nation marks 25 years since September 11th, the Second Lady and I were honored to serve alongside volunteers in Missouri," said Lt. Governor David Wasinger. "Missourians packaged more than 626,000 meals, showcasing the neighbor-helping-neighbor spirit of Missouri, and demonstrating how compassion and community spirit can turn solemn remembrance into direct, meaningful support for families across our state."
