At the specially designed booths that were set up at Titou Square in Heraklion and at the Syntagma metro station in Athens, volunteer employees of Motor Oil and members of the "ORAMA ELPIDAS" Association welcomed citizens, who wished not only to be informed but also to register as new donors-thus expanding a chain of love and life: the National and Global Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
The events were also attended by sports and arts representatives, including Antigoni Drisbioti, Apostolos Christou, Anna Ntountounaki, Panagiota Dosi, Apon and Klavdia, who supported the Association's mission to offer hope to patients suffering from serious hematological diseases.
Through this initiative over the past three years, the Motor Oil Group and its employees have contributed to the registration of 700 volunteer bone marrow donors, honoring through volunteerism the memory and legacy of the late Marianna V. Vardinogiannis, Founder of the "ORAMA ELPIDAS" Association, who created a powerful and enduring chain of hope.
It is noted that since its establishment in 2012, "ORAMA ELPIDAS" has registered nearly 200,000 volunteer bone marrow donors, 489 of whom have been identified as compatible matches. With the aim of continuously strengthening both the global and Greek donor pools, this initiative seeks to contribute to the achievement of the Association's new goal: the registration of 300,000 volunteer bone marrow donors, offering hope for life to our fellow human beings.
"We raise life higher and set a new goal: 300,000 Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors."
