"We are going to analyze, for example, whether blockchain technology can be the tool to manage the dangers of artificial intelligence and prevent it from being used to carry out social engineering that is harmful to citizens as a whole", says Salomó. The aim is to explore how new digital technologies can strengthen transparency, efficiency and citizens' commitment to democracy.
Among the speakers include are Michael Casey, journalist and internationally known expert on new technologies; Kristian Bartholin, head of the digital development unit of the Council of Europe; and Evan Henshaw-Plath (known as Rabble), social media activist. The sessions will include lectures, panel discussions and interactive workshops, among other activities.
