BHV Adventures, LLC Becomes First Rural Jump-Start Participant in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY - Today, Governor Polis and the Business Funding & Incentives (BF&I) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that BHV Adventures, LLC, a manufacturer that specializes in the design, creation, and sales of affordable and luxury tiny homes, has become the first Lincoln County business to join the Rural Jump-Start program. The company manufactures tiny homes on wheels in both bumper pull and fifth wheel options.

"Colorado is the best place to live, work and run a business, and we are supporting businesses in every corner of our state to help drive our economy, and create new housing opportunities for rural Coloradans. By joining the Rural Jump-Start program, BHV Adventures will create good-paying jobs, support the local economy, and increase and expand housing options across the region," said Governor Jared Polis.

BHV Adventures plans to start operations in a factory space in Arriba, Colorado. The company also plans to collaborate with other local businesses in Lincoln County, including Arriba Cueball Trailer MFG, High Plains Bank and Big Ben's RV Park, which is also owned and operated by BHV Adventures' owner.

"We are excited to be approved as Lincoln County Colorado's first recipient to the Rural Jumpstart Program. BHV Adventures seeks to provide affordable models and create an accommodating lifestyle for adventure seeking, hard working and/or family oriented folk who look to live free of the financial encumbrance of owning and maintaining large houses and grounds. We work hard to support our customers; facilitating them directly into an affordable, legal space to live and enjoy life in a safe, sustainable and tranquil community environment," stated Ben VanderWerf, BHV Adventures' Founder and Managing Member.

The Rural Jump-Start program encourages economic development and job creation in economically distressed, rural counties of Colorado. This funding supports regional economic and workforce development activities that seek to expand local business, create new good-paying jobs, and strengthen and diversify local economies. The company will receive $15,000 in grant funding to support the launch of its operations and eligible employees will also receive a state personal income tax exemption. Sponsoring entities like Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) help identify business candidates in their communities and work with each business to help ensure its success in the program and in the community.

"The Rural Jump-Start program supports the goals of local communities, creating jobs across the state. We are thrilled to see BHV Adventures come to eastern Colorado and today's announcement highlights our state's continued commitment to innovation and diversifying of our economy," said Eve Lieberman, OEDIT Executive Director.

"As Lincoln County's first Rural Jump-Start participant, BHV Adventures looks to bring housing solutions to the high plains of Colorado. The increased tax base, new jobs and support industries to their enterprise are all benefits that we look forward to!" said Troy McCue, Executive Director of LCEDC.
