DOH ALERTS PUBLIC TO DREYER'S GRAND ICE CREAM, INC. RECALL OF OUTSHINE FRUIT BARS
26-106
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 19, 2026
HONOLULU - The Hawai'i Department of Health (DOH) Food and Drug Branch (FDB) is alerting residents to a recall issued by Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. for its Outshine Fruit Bars frozen treats. This recall applies to 6-count, 2.5-ounce packages of the following flavors: Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Black Cherry, and Tangerine. The 24-count, 2.5-ounce Variety Pack Fruit Bars are also implicated. No other Outshine Fruit Bars products or varieties are under recall. The recall was issued due to possible foreign material contamination with glass, which may cause injury if consumed.
The recalled products were distributed nationally, including Times/Don Quijote, KTA Super Stores, Walmart, Target, and other retailers in Hawaiʻi. The FDB is working with the local stores to ensure that the recalled products are no longer available for sale. The recalled products can be identified by the batch code, best before date, and UPC printed on the bottom of the package.
Per Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc., there have been no reported cases of injury or illness to date. The FDB advises consumers to verify that they purchased the recalled products and dispose of or return the recalled products to the retailer where they were purchased for a full refund. Consumers concerned about potential injury should contact their healthcare provider immediately.
For more information, consumers may contact Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream via email at [email protected].
