Marisa Escobar and Mark Hanna to Speak on Water Infrastructure at Bay-Delta Conference

The event takes place on September 28 through 30 and is hosted by Delta Stewardship Council and the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

Marisa is a Principal Water Resources Consultant based in California with more than 20 years of experience focused on supporting public agencies, utilities, and regional organizations in water resources planning, watershed resilience, climate adaptation, and infrastructure strategy. A recognized leader in water resilience and systems-based planning, she develops and applies innovative approaches that connect water supply reliability, ecosystem health, infrastructure resilience, and climate adaptation.

Mark is a Senior Principal Water Resources Engineer based in California with more than 25 years of experience focused on water and natural resources. He specializes in river basin management and planning, local water supply reliability, large system hydrology and hydraulics, surface water and groundwater management, and waterfront resilience. Mark is Senior Services Director for Water Supply and Natural Resources for Geosyntec's Water West Operations.

The Bay-Delta Conference presents scientific research and analyses that inform management of the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The event provides a venue for presenting findings, advancing interdisciplinary understanding, and synthesizing knowledge relevant to Bay- Delta science and management.

The Delta Stewardship Council is a California state agency that advances a reliable statewide water supply and a healthy Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta ecosystem through science-based planning, coordination, and implementation of the Delta Plan.

The USGS is the science agency of the United States Department of the Interior. It provides research, data, and analysis on the nation's natural resources, ecosystems, water, geology, and natural hazards to support informed decision-making.
