President Meloni’s telephone conversation with President Erdoğan

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The call focused on the situation in the Middle East and particularly in Syria, a month on from the fall of the Assad regime. The two leaders reiterated their call for the ongoing transition to be peaceful and inclusive, ensuring full integration of all members of Syrian society and contributing to regional stability and security.

President Meloni and President Erdoğan also focused on bilateral relations and, in particular, on the opportunities to boost economic, judicial and industrial cooperation, also in view of the next intergovernmental summit to be held in the coming months.
