Recognition highlights ERIE's commitment to developing future insurance professionals
Erie Insurance (ERIE) has been recognized by Rising Insurance Star Executive (RISE) as having one of the top 50 internship programs in the industry, marking the sixth straight year ERIE has earned the honor.
Launched more than 20 years ago, ERIE's Future Focus summer internship program provides college students with competitive, paid internships that offer real-world business experience at a Fortune 500 company and opportunities to explore careers in the insurance industry. Hundreds of current ERIE employees can trace the start of their careers back to the Future Focus program.
"Our goal is to give interns meaningful work, strong connections and opportunities to learn from people across ERIE," said Allison Yori, talent acquisition partner and ERIE's internship program coordinator. "Being recognized again by RISE reflects the experience our teams work hard to create and the contributions our interns make throughout the summer."
For interns Austin Shady and Cate Noble, the Future Focus program provided opportunities to build professional skills, develop relationships and connect with ERIE's culture and community.
"My internship at ERIE has been an unforgettable experience that challenged me to grow while making me feel welcomed every step of the way," said Shady, a Penn State Behrend information systems major and Finance Technology & Data intern. "I'm grateful for the guidance, encouragement and kindness I received from so many people throughout the organization. This experience has created a pipeline for future opportunities, lasting relationships and continued personal and professional growth."
Noble, a Gannon University business major, interned in ERIE's Claims Shared Services Department, where her experience also included opportunities to connect with the community. "One of my favorite things about working at ERIE is how kind and welcoming everyone is," Noble said. "From day one, I've been surrounded by people who are always willing to answer questions, offer guidance and help me learn. I've also really enjoyed participating in ERIE's service opportunities, which have shown me how much the company values giving back to the community."
In 2026, 89 interns from 40 colleges and universities joined ERIE's program, gaining experience across departments including Claims, Actuarial, Customer Service and Data Science.
