Important road closures: September 24 to 27 – final update

Due to road closures related to the UCI Road World Championships taking place until September 27, please make sure to plan changes to your usual commute, particularly if you drive to work.

The routes vary each day depending on the events, which means that areas affected by road closures and street closure times will be different from one day to the next.

Plan ahead before leaving and allow extra travel time, whether you are driving or taking public transit.

Please note: Staff with a valid employee ID card will be allowed through local traffic zones monitored by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal. If you have difficulty accessing these areas, please contact MUHC Locating at extension 53333. Remember to carry your employee ID card with you.

On September 26 and 27, due to the full closure of the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, access to the Chevrier parking lot in Brossard will be free of charge. Free shuttles will run to the Du Quartier REM station between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Major closures

To help you plan your commute, we have listed the road closures affecting access to our facilities. The Montreal General Hospital, Allan Memorial Institute, The Neuro, Jewish General Hospital, where Optilab-CUSM employees work, as well as the Glen site, are affected.

September 24 and 25: The route will go around Mount Royal and will mainly affect The Neuro and the Allan Memorial Institute. Please use Sherbrooke Street and University Street to access The Neuro, and Sherbrooke Street and Côte-des-Neiges Road to access the Montreal General Hospital.

September 26 and 27: The route will go around Mount Royal before heading down Côte-des-Neiges Road and along Atwater Avenue to Highway 15. The Samuel-De Champlain Bridge will be closed towards Montreal from 7:45 a.m. to noon. It will remain open towards the South Shore.

• Park Avenue, between Mount Royal Avenue and Pine Avenue - fully closed until early October
• Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road and Mount Royal Avenue - certain sections will be fully closed from September 24 to 27

• Camillien-Houde Way, between Mount Royal Avenue and Remembrance Road
• Mount Royal Avenue, between Fernhill Avenue and Saint-Urbain Street
• Mount Royal Avenue, between Pagnuelo Avenue and Fernhill Avenue
• Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, between Villeneuve Street, Maplewood Avenue and Mount Royal Avenue
• Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, between Vincent-d'Indy Avenue and Pagnuelo Avenue
• Côte-des-Neiges Road, east side, between Remembrance Road and Gatineau Avenue
• Saint-Urbain Street, between Mount Royal Avenue and Pine Avenue
• Pine Avenue, between Saint-Urbain Street and Park Avenue

In addition to the list above, the following roads will be closed:

• Côte-des-Neiges Road (partial closure), from Gatineau Street to Atwater Avenue
• Atwater Avenue, from Côte-des-Neiges Road to Highway 15
• Samuel-De Champlain Bridge towards Montreal - fully closed from 7:45 a.m. to noon

The sections of Atwater Avenue, Dr. Penfield Avenue and Côte-des-Neiges Road (between Dr. Penfield Avenue and Remembrance Road) will reopen at 11:30 a.m.
