Alumni Named Negaunee Outstanding Educators
Elissa Macario and Cody Scanlon
Northern Michigan University alumni Elissa Macario ('13 BS, '18 MAE) and Cody Scanlon ('11 BS, '18 MAE) were named the 2026 Outstanding Educators at Negaunee Public Schools.
The award recognizes notable teachers within the school district who lead by example and positively contribute to student success. Macario is a 4th grade teacher and Scanlon is a 7th grade science teacher.
The two were scheduled to be recognized for their achievements at West Marquette County Partners for Education's 37th annual Day of Excellence.
