Recognizing his longstanding positive impact on the city and its toe-tapping residents, Fort Worth City Council on Tuesday agreed to place sign-toppers honoring Leon Bridges in the neighborhood where his debut album was recorded.

Bridges was born in Atlanta on July 13, 1989, but was raised in Fort Worth and graduated from Fort Worth Crowley High School. He is one of the most celebrated creative voices from Fort Worth and has been nominated for a Grammy Award four times, winning in 2019.

He recorded his debut album, Coming Home, at Niles City Sound on South Calhoun Street in Fort Worth's Near Southside.

Sign-toppers will be placed at the intersections of South Calhoun Street with East Vickery Boulevard, East Daggett Avenue and East Broadway Avenue.
