Route 60 Widening Project between Springfield and Republic Focus of Public Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 29

Springfield, Republic, Greene County - Those interested in the U.S. Route 60 Highway Widening Project between Springfield and Republic are invited to a public meeting to discuss proposed improvements and project information on Tuesday, September 29, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The come-and-go style meeting will be held from 4:30 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at the City of Republic City Hall, 4221 S. Wilsons Creek Blvd, Republic. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project, ask questions, and leave comments.

Those unable to attend the in-person meeting can view exhibits and obtain project information at www.modot.org/southwest. Comments on this project can be mailed in, emailed, or submitted online through the project website until Tuesday, October 13. For those unable to access the online meeting, contact MoDOT's Southwest District Office, and accommodations will be made to share the information and gather feedback.

Project highlights:

  • Add a lane on U.S. Route 60 shoulders in each direction between James River Freeway/Missouri Route 360 and Farm Road 103
  • New signalized intersection at U.S. Route 60 and Farm Road 107 west of the current intersection
  • Intersection modifications at Farm Road 164 to allow right-in/right-out only
  • Access management and driveway consolidation, including removal of crossover medians

Traffic Impacts:

  • Nighttime lane closings on U.S. Route 60
  • Narrowed lanes, traffic shifts, and delays on U.S. Route 60
  • Traffic shifts on Farm Road 107

Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2028.

Estimated Total Cost: $7.64 million
