WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, issued the following statement after voting to confirm Markwayne Mullin as the next Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
"While serving alongside Senator Mullin, I've had the privilege of working closely with him and witnessing firsthand his unwavering commitment to keeping our nation safe. He is a devout, dedicated family man whose inner strength and values will guide him in this role. His love for this country and sense of duty are unmatched. I am confident that Senator Mullin will faithfully execute the law and secure our borders, while balancing the broad responsibilities of DHS that encompass cybersecurity, disaster relief and recovery, and air and coastal security.
