Caroline Ammerlaan Named CEO of Hearst Magazines Netherlands

NEW YORK, January 6, 2026 - Hearst Magazines today announced that Caroline Ammerlaan has been named Chief Executive Officer of Hearst Netherlands. The announcement was made by Hearst Magazines President Debi Chirichella and Hearst Magazines International President Jonathan Wright, to whom Ammerlaan will report.

Ammerlaan succeeds Marscha Krouwel, who recently stepped down after a 25-year career at Hearst Magazines International, the last six of which she led the Netherlands business. She currently serves in an advisory role for the company.

"Caroline is a highly respected leader with a strong track record of managing large teams, delivering revenue growth and advancing data-driven decision-making," Chirichella said. "We are delighted to welcome her to Hearst Netherlands, where she will accelerate innovation and shape the next phase of growth for the business."

Ammerlaan joins Hearst from Talpa eCommerce, Talpa Network's e-commerce division, where she served as CEO since 2021. While at the helm, she strengthened the commercial, digital and operational performance of a high-volume digital marketplace in the leisure sector with millions of annual transactions, implementing new growth models, enhancing data-driven decision-making and driving significant operational improvements.

Previously, she held senior leadership roles at Gruner + Jahr Media, including COO and CFO, and played a key role in the company's successful sale and integration into Hearst Netherlands.

"Caroline brings a rare mix of experience across magazine publishing and digital businesses to her new role," Wright said. "During her time at Gruner + Jahr, she worked closely with Hearst Netherlands on the integration of several titles into the portfolio, and more recently, as CEO of Talpa eCommerce, has shown she can lead change, move a business forward and deliver strong results in a digital-first environment."

"I'm incredibly excited to be joining Hearst Netherlands and to work with such strong, iconic and diverse brands," Ammerlaan said. "There is significant opportunity ahead, and I look forward to collaborating with the talented and passionate team to shape what's next: meeting audiences where they are, strengthening those connections and creating innovative experiences that deliver real value to our consumers and clients, supporting the business's continuous growth."

Ammerlaan begins her new role this week.
