September 11, 2026
HARTFORD, CT - The Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) today announced the launch of the Be Weather Ready: Preparedness & Resiliency Center, a new online resource designed to help Connecticut residents prepare for severe weather, understand their insurance coverage, and take steps to protect their homes and property.
The Center brings together important information about weather risks, home resilience, and insurance coverage in one location, making it simpler to access guidance when it matters most. It offers hazard specific information, home protection tips, preparedness tools, and recovery resources tied to the state's most common weather events.
"Being weather ready starts with understanding the risks around us and knowing what we can do to prepare," said Insurance Commissioner Josh Hershman. "We created this center to give Connecticut residents practical, easy-to-use information and tools to help them understand those risks, protect their property and feel more prepared when severe weather strikes."
