Public Meeting to be Held for U.S. Route 61 Interchange Project at Routes B/E in Lincoln County

HANNIBAL - The public is invited to an informational meeting about the future interchange project on U.S. Route 61 in Lincoln County, located at the intersection of Routes B and E near Auburn.

The public meeting is planned for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. in the Community Room at the Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, located at 1112 E. Cherry Street in Troy.

Details about the project, including a project schedule, will be shared at the meeting through displays and discussions with Missouri Department of Transportation engineers and its consultants, Bartlett & West. The meeting is open-house style, so there will be no formal presentation. Attendees can join in anytime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

"We encourage individuals to come to the public meeting and learn about this important project," said MoDOT Project Manager Chris Knapp. "The new interchange will be constructed near the existing roadway and feature a new bridge consisting of two 12-foot lanes with 4-foot shoulders, and roundabouts at the east and west ramp terminal intersections."

As the project moves forward, environmental studies will be completed, and additional right-of-way will be required. Construction is tentatively anticipated to begin during the 2028 construction season.

All displays and information provided at the public meeting will be posted on the project webpage immediately following the meeting. A public comment period will be available for two-weeks, beginning on June 17, 2026. All comments must be received by June 30, 2026.
