Route H Bridge Weight Restrictions Posted in Lincoln County…

HANNIBAL - Signs indicating a weight limit of 20 tons for single-unit vehicles and 35 tons for combination vehicles (including tractor-trailers) have been installed for a bridge on Lincoln County Route H over Buck Creek, north of Route PP near Silex.

The new load posting came about during the department's regular bridge inspection process to analyze load limitations, which have been updated per Federal Highway Administration guidance. The new load limits will be in place until the bridge is replaced. No timeframe has been set to replace the bridge at this time. Previously, the bridge was posted for "19 Tons 15 MPH". Approximately 244 vehicles travel across the structure each day.
