AF-X Fireblocker MCA MED Approval

9 March 2026

AF-X Fireblocker has completed UK MCA MED approval for the entire product range of aerosol fire suppression systems, with assessment and certification through BSI. This follows on from successful IMO 1270 accreditation and RINA type approval.

Compact, non-pressurised AF-X Fireblocker Nano systems are installed into confined spaces and engine bay compartments. AF-X Fireblocker have proven to be effective in the European marine sector for use with passenger carrying vessels, workboats and leisure craft.

The compact design of AF-X Fireblocker Nano combined with simple plug and play connections makes Fireblocker Nano a perfect solution for passenger vessels effected by the
recent changes to MCA legislation, for those carrying 12 or more paying passengers.

Offering 8 different size profiles for extinguishing generators enables installation into any engine bay.

UK MCA MED marine accreditation, in hand with IMO 1270 & RINA type approval displays the many capabilities of AF-X Fireblocker aerosol fire suppression. From HV/LV substations, generator enclosures, transformer rooms, lithium-ion battery storage, IT comms rooms to Marine applications.
