Lane closures on US-169 between 144th St. & Commercial St. for urge…

Alternative traffic pattern in place for repairs by Spire Energy.

CLAY COUNTY - Crews have reduced northbound and southbound U.S. 169 to one lane between 144th Street and Commercial St. in Smithville due to urgent permitted utility work by Spire Energy. The southbound lanes of U.S. 169 between Commercial St. and 144th St. are being used for two-way traffic. The alternative traffic pattern will be in place until repairs are completed through approximately Friday, Dec. 19. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
