Homicide Investigation

GREENSBORO, NC (September 28, 2026) - Greensboro Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man over the weekend.

At approximately 5:51 p.m. Sunday, GPD officers, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS responded to the 5600 block of Weslo-Willow Circle in reference to a suspicious activity call. Khemari Javon Perry was found unresponsive in a wooded area with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.

Officers had been called to an incident on that street the previous day. On Saturday, officers responded at approximately 12:52 p.m. to the 5600 block of Weslo-Willow Circle in reference to reports of shots fired in the area. No victims or suspects were located. Later that day, Perry was reported missing by a family member.

His next of kin have been notified.

This is an active homicide investigation. Further details are not immediately available for release to the public.

This is the City's 21st homicide of 2026.
