Poetry in the Barn

Barnswallow Books in Rockport kicks off their Summer Literary series on Tuesday May 19 at 5 PM with poet/musician Dave Morrison. Admission is free, light food and drink is offered, books will be for sale, and all are welcome. The Barnswallow barn is located at 166 Russell Ave in Rockport Maine.

Morrison's unique delivery has been called 'poetry with a soundtrack', created using looped electric guitar and spoken word. Hailed as 'A hearty weed in the garden of American poetry' (Dispatch Magazine) Morrison's poems have been published in literary magazines and anthologies, and featured on Writer's Almanac, Take Heart, and Poems from Here. Morrison has published nineteen books of poetry including Clubland (poems about rock & roll bars in verse and meter, Fighting Cock Press 2011) and Cancer Poems (JukeBooks 2015). Already Home (JukeBooks 2026) is his most recent collection. After years of playing in rock bands in Boston and NYC, Dave now lives on the coast of Maine with his wife Susan.
