If you see someone rappelling from the south-facing side of the University of Wyoming's Ivinson Parking Garage or a Black Hawk helicopter flying and landing near campus, don't be alarmed.
UW's Army ROTC program will conduct rappelling operations from 8 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Aug. 26. While some of the garage's parking space on the top level will be unavailable, the impact to parking should be limited.
Between about 2-5 p.m., weather permitting, a Black Hawk helicopter will fly in the vicinity of campus and land near 19th Street and Willett Drive. The flight lab will introduce cadets to aviation career fields and familiarize them with flight operations.
No major impacts are expected, although there may be some increased noise in the area. People are welcome to observe from a safe distance.
Both events support ROTC's curriculum and will be similar to past events held on campus.
