Altercation on Spokane's South Hill Currently Being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit

The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating an altercation that resulted in the death of two people. This is still an active crime scene. A third individual is cooperating with the investigation. Names of the deceased and manner of death will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office.

Early this evening, at approximately 5:15pm, Spokane Police received numerous 911 calls about an altercation in the 3300 block of east 11th. Callers sated there was some kind of altercation between at least two people involving a knife and a firearm. Patrol officers were on scene within minutes and started to secure the area and tend the injuries of those involved. Despite the efforts of police and emergency personnel on scene, two people have died as a result of their injuries.

This is still an active and ongoing investigation. It is believed, at this time, all the parties involved are accounted for. The reason for the altercation and the relationship of the parties involved is still being ascertained by investigators on scene. No one else was injured during this incident.
