The President of Parliament Nataliya Kiselova and members of parliament attended the solemn ceremonial fireworks display in Plovdiv, marking the 140th anniversary of the Unification of Bulgaria

The President of Parliament Nataliya Kiselova and members of parliament attended the solemn ceremonial fireworks display in Plovdiv, marking the 140th anniversary of the Unification of Bulgaria.

President Rumen Radev, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Vice-President Iliana Yotova, members of parliament and clergy took part in the culmination of the celebrations marking the Unification Day of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia.

The solemn military ritual was attended by representative formations from the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), the 110th Logistics Regiment and the 91st General Support Engineer Battalion of the Land Forces, the Third Air Base and the 24th Air Base of the Air Force.

Earlier today, National Assembly President Nataliya Kiselova stated that September 6 is an occasion to reiterate that together we can achieve more, that only by uniting our efforts can we accomplish the national goals we set for ourselves. The national interest must prevail over short-term and domestic or foreign policy goals, she added.
