Street, Sidewalk & Curb Lawn Maintenance Reminder

Tree Trimming Requirements:
• Branches must be trimmed at least 10 feet above sidewalks to allow clear passage for pedestrians and joggers.
• Branches overhanging streets must be trimmed at least 14 feet high to allow safe clearance for school buses, emergency vehicles, and service trucks.

General Landscaping Maintenance:
Please ensure all trees, shrubs, and plants on your property are maintained so they:
• Do not obstruct sidewalks, making them impassable for walkers
• Do not block visibility for drivers at intersections, driveways, or corners

Curb Lawn Care :
Per Ohio law, property owners are responsible for maintaining the curb lawn area (the space between the sidewalk and the street). This means keeping it free of excessive vegetation and debris. This helps rainwater flow to storm drains and prevents blockages and localized flooding.

Below you will find pictures to demonstrate out of compliance trees and shrubs. Your cooperation helps keep Clayton safe, attractive, and functioning efficiently.
