South Dakota Wing received a "highly effective" evaluation from an inspection team from the Air Force and CAP national headquarters. South Dakota Wing is the first to receive this highest possible rating in the current cycle of inspections.
"Compliance inspections are an important aspect of our partnership with the Air Force," [MM1] said Col. Pegelow, South Dakota Wing c[MM2] ommander. "These inspections show all of our stakeholders that we exceed in the standards that have been set forth by the memorandum of understanding, as we continue to strive for excellence!"
Each Civil Air Patrol wing is inspected every four years to determine how effectively and safely the wing accomplishes its assigned mission responsibilities and help improve mission accomplishment. The inspection team in South Dakota looked at all aspects of the state organization, including operations, logistics, communications, education and training, cadet programs, aerospace education, administration, personnel, transportation, command, and inspector general.
The inspectors praised South Dakota Wing for both professionalism and positive attitudes during their final briefing April 13
