ARLINGTON, Va. - The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) today announced the addition of nine companies to its membership, further strengthening the electrondustry's ability to meet rapidly growing electricity demand and modernize America's energy infrastructure. NEMA forecasts U.S. electricity demand will rise 55% by 2050, fueled by the expansion of data centers, advanced manufacturing, and electrification.
The nine new members - Franklin Electric, FranklinWH, Haydon Corporation, Helion Energy, LayerZero Power Systems, Milbank Manufacturing, PPG Industries, Inc., SolarEdge Technologies, and Trench Group - bring expertise across the technologies powering America's energy future, from grid infrastructure and high-voltage equipment to energy storage, advanced manufacturing, and next-generation power generation.
"These companies join NEMA at a defining moment for the electrical industry," said NEMA President and CEO Debra Phillips. "We are in the midst of one of the most significant infrastructure transformations in generations - one driven by surging electricity demand, rapid electrification across the economy, and the growing complexity of our nation's energy systems. Innovation and collaboration have never been more critical. Our newest members bring valuable expertise and capabilities that will strengthen grid reliability, advance electrification, and support America's long-term economic growth."
The new members arrive as NEMA deepens its industry leadership across a rapidly evolving energy landscape. A centerpiece of that effort is the recently released AI Data Center Energy Performance Framework - developed in collaboration with ASHRAE and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory - which establishes comprehensive technical standards and best practices for designing, constructing, and operating modern, energy-efficient facilities. Collectively, the newest members bring deep expertise in power distribution, energy storage, generation, and high-voltage equipment - capabilities essential to building a more reliable, resilient, and efficient electrical infrastructure for the future.
NEMA's eight new Manufacturing Members are:
"Franklin Electric is proud to join NEMA at a pivotal time for electrification in the United States," said Joe Ruzynski, CEO of Franklin Electric. "As grid demand rises, monitoring and control solutions are becoming increasingly critical to maintaining reliability. Our technologies deliver the real-time insights needed to maintain grid stability, protect data centers, and monitor critical infrastructure. We look forward to working with NEMA members to shape the future of the nation's electrical infrastructure."
"Joining NEMA is a meaningful milestone for FranklinWH. As home energy storage becomes essential infrastructure for American households, being part of the organization that shapes the standards and policies behind electrification puts us exactly where we need to be. We look forward to contributing to that work alongside the broader NEMA community," said FranklinWH CEO Gary Lam.
"Haydon is proud to join NEMA and contribute to the conversations shaping the future of electrical infrastructure and construction in North America," said Trish Wagstaff, Chairman and CEO of Haydon Corp. "Through our H-STRUT® and H-BLOCK® product lines, we support the installation and performance of critical electrical and mechanical systems, and we look forward to collaborating with fellow members to advance innovation, resiliency, and domestic manufacturing."
"As energy demand accelerates, America's ability to build and deploy advanced electrical infrastructure will be a key determinant of economic competitiveness. At Helion, we're already manufacturing and scaling critical electrical technologies, including high-voltage capacitors built in the United States, to bring fusion energy to market. We know that leadership in this industry will depend on strong domestic supply chains, skilled workers, effective industry standards, and the ability to deploy at scale. We're excited to join NEMA and collaborate with its members to strengthen U.S. manufacturing, modernize energy infrastructure, and help ensure America leads the next generation of energy innovation," said Helion Vice President of Public Affairs Jackie Siebens.
"Joining NEMA reinforces our commitment to advancing the performance and resilience of mission-critical power infrastructure. As demand accelerates across data centers and high-density compute environments, LayerZero is focused on delivering flexible, high-efficiency power distribution solutions that meet the evolving needs of AI-driven and digital infrastructure. We look forward to collaborating within NEMA to help shape standards, strengthen supply chains, and support the next generation of scalable, reliable power systems," said
Patrick Taylor, CEO, LayerZero Power Systems.
"Milbank's story has been defined by nearly 100 years of American manufacturing, customer partnerships, and a commitment to serving the electrical industry," said Chris Buelow, President of Milbank Manufacturing. "Joining NEMA reflects our belief that industry leadership extends beyond the products we build-it includes working alongside peers to advance innovation, strengthen infrastructure, and support the future growth of our industry. We are proud to join NEMA and contribute to the conversations shaping the future of electrical manufacturing."
"From solar energy and battery storage to smart energy systems and grid services, SolarEdge is focused on delivering more efficient, reliable, and resilient power across America," said Amir Cohen, General Manager, SolarEdge North America. "We're proud to join NEMA and collaborate with the manufacturers and technology leaders advancing interoperability, strengthening grid reliability, and enabling the seamless integration of the technologies that power homes, businesses, and communities."
"Joining NEMA is a natural step as we deepen our commitment to U.S. grid expansion and modernization," said Nils von Dietman, CEO, HSP US. "With a strong production footprint in North America and our first U.S. bushing manufacturing facility now operational in Charlotte, NC, we look forward to working alongside industry peers to advance the standards and technologies that will strengthen America's grid."
NEMA's new Associate Member is:
"In our 143-year history, PPG has consistently led the finishing industry forward. We are continuing that legacy as the inaugural coatings company to join the new Data Center Infrastructure Partner program, demonstrating our commitment to supporting these facilities with resilient solutions that protect critical assets," said PPG Vice President, Industrial Coatings Hendekea Azene.
