Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong Attends Seminar on Iceland-China Trade Relations

On October 8th, Ambassador He Rulong attended a seminar titled "Shifting Winds in Geopolitics and Commerce: The Future of Iceland-China Trade Relations", hosted by the Icelandic-Chinese Trade Council, and delivered the closing remarks. Counsellors Yang Jing and Dai Ke were in attendance.

Ambassador He elaborated on the key concepts of President Xi Jinping's Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative. He also introduced China's recent major initiatives regarding special and differential treatment within the World Trade Organization. He emphasized that major countries should serve as a stabilizing force in international politics, a driving force in the global economy, and a model for respecting smaller countries-thereby contributing to global governance, promoting common development, and deepening bilateral relations.

As a result of heated and insightful dialogues and discussions, the panelists expressed their shared support for an open world economy, the current positive state of mutually beneficial cooperation between Iceland and China, and the enormous potential for future development. The seminar was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
