Emory School of Nursing welcomes new faculty

The Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing has added six scholars to its faculty, bringing clinical and research expertise across a wide range of specialties.

Meet the new faculty members:

Amy Becklenberg,DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP
Clinical Associate Professor

Previous Position
Clinical Associate Professor, Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, Loyola University Chicago

Teaching/Research
Focuses on the intersection of health promotion and disease prevention through Lifestyle Medicine and health equity as well as public health interventions that promote the neurocognitive, social and emotional development of infants and toddlers.

Jasmine Clark, PhD
Assistant Clinical Professor

Previous Position
Emory College of Arts and Sciences, Emory University

Teaching/Research
Returns to the School of Nursing to teach pre-requisites after teaching in the Biology Department at the Emory College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches microbiology, anatomy and physiology as well as courses on health and policy.

Stephanie Griggs, PhD, RN, FAAN
Associate Professor

Previous Position
Associate Professor, Case Western Reserve University

Teaching/Research
A sleep and circadian scientist focused on young adults with Type 1 diabetes, contributing over 60 publications, securing NIH and foundation funding, and mentoring emerging scholars from multiple disciplines.

Kristen Holder, DrPH, MSN, FNP, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Director

Previous Position
Assistant Professor, School of Medicine, University of Colorado; Lead Advance Practice Provider, Pediatric Mental Health Institute, Children's Hospital Colorado; Co-Director of PMHNP Training, Children's Hospital Colorado

Teaching/Research
A board-certified PMHNPwith experience in education and clinical practice and a former faculty member at Georgia State University. She also maintains a private practice and researches eating disorder outcomes in young adults in the U.S.

Tricia Z. King, PhD
Professor

Previous Position
Professor, Department of Psychology, Georgia State University

Teaching/Research
A developmental clinical neuropsychologist who studies brain-behavior relationships with advancing technologies. Her research aims to optimize cognitive outcomes for pediatric cancer patients and improve brain and cognitive health across the lifespan.


Irene Njuguna,
MBChB, MSc, MPH, PhD
Associate Research Professor

Previous Position
Research Scientist, Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya; Affiliate Assistant Professor, University of Washington, Seattle

Teaching/Research
Specializes in improving clinical outcomes in children and adolescents with HIV, including mortality, morbidity, neurodevelopment, and transition to adult care. She also studies the impacts of environmental exposure on child neurodevelopment.
